The Winnipeg Goldeyes (51-40) beat the St Paul Saints (50-41) 5-2 on Saturday at Midway Stadium behind Josh Mazzola, who went 1-5 and hit a home run.

He homered in the third inning.

The Winnipeg Goldeyes relied on Andrew Walker to eat up innings en route to the win. Walker pitched 8 1/3 innings and allowed two earned runs, six hits and no walks while striking out three.

Ole Sheldon paced the St Paul Saints at the plate. Sheldon went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the fourth inning and singled in the ninth inning.

Robert Coe ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his fifth loss of the year. He lasted just six innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed three runs.
