The El Paso (2-8) used a six-run explosion in the eighth inning to get past the Winnipeg (6-3) 14-7 on Saturday at Cohen Stadium.
Maikol Gonzalez racked up three RBIs on three hits for the El Paso . He doubled in the second inning and singled in the first and fourth innings.
Reymond Cruz racked up seven strikeouts in the the El Paso win. Cruz allowed three earned runs, five hits and no walks over seven innings.
Amos Ramon did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Winnipeg , reaching base three times. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He singled in the third inning and tripled in the fifth inning.
Fabian Williamson was charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed six runs in five innings, walked one and struck out three.
The El Paso added three more runs in the bottom of the second. Gonzalez doubled, scoring Jonathan Cisneros and Brian Joynt to start the inning. That was followed up by Bryan Frichter's double, plating Gonzalez.
