After seven lead changes in Monday's game at Wuerfel Park, the Traverse City Beach Bums (35-17) finally pulled out a 5-4 win over the Florence Freedom (28-24).

The Traverse City Beach Bums would not relinquish the lead as the Florence Freedom were unable to weather a two-run fifth inning deficit.

The Florence Freedom scored one run in the seventh on an RBI double by Peter Fatse. Still, the Florence Freedom couldn't draw even.

Travis Higgs was solid at the plate for the Traverse City Beach Bums. Higgs went 1-2, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the fifth inning.

Reid Kelly improved to 7-2 on the year by picking up the win for the Traverse City Beach Bums. He allowed three runs over six innings. He struck out five, walked none and surrendered nine hits.

Alec Lewis (2-6) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just four innings, walked none, struck out two, and allowed five runs.
