The Evansville Otters make the most of 7 hits in 8-6 victory over the Joliet Slammers

The Evansville Otters (32-37) and the Joliet Slammers (27-42) both threatened with rallies, but it was the Evansville Otters that eventually took advantage of them in an 8-6 win at Bosse Field.

The Evansville Otters staved off the Joliet Slammers as the Joliet Slammers were unable to match the Evansville Otters down the stretch.

The Joliet Slammers scored on an RBI double by Erik Lis and a groundout by Eric McGee in the sixth inning, an RBI double by David Fox in the seventh inning, and a solo home run by David Christensen in the eighth inning. Still, the Joliet Slammers couldn't catch the Evansville Otters.

Greg Fontenot got on base four times in the game for the Evansville Otters. He singled in the third inning.

Christensen did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Joliet Slammers, reaching base three times. He scored two runs and had one RBI.

Bryce Morrow got his sixth win for the Evansville Otters despite allowing five runs over six innings. He struck out eight, walked one and surrendered seven hits.

Jim Schult (5-5) took the loss for the Joliet Slammers. He allowed seven runs in five innings, walked four and struck out six.
