The Lake Erie Crushers cough up lead, the Joliet Slammers win 4-3

Down three runs in the eighth, the Joliet Slammers (7-6) recovered thanks to Sean Estand's sacrifice fly in the tenth, and pulled out a 4-3 win over the Lake Erie Crushers (4-8) on Thursday at All Pro Freight Stadium.

With the score tied at three in the tenth inning, hit a sacrifice fly, plating Zach Mandelblatt.

The Joliet Slammers were led by Estand's hitting. Estand went 1-4 and drove in one. He singled in the fifth inning.

The Joliet Slammers' Hector Pellot was perfect at the dish, going 3-3. He singled in the first, sixth, and ninth innings.

The Lake Erie Crushers' lineup had no answer for Jeremy Tietze. The Lake Erie Crushers managed just three hits off of the the Joliet Slammers' pitcher, who allowed two earned runs, walked three and struck out five during his six innings of work.

Brian Smith improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Joliet Slammers. Smith struck out none, walked none and gave up one hit.

Kelyn Schellenberg was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just one inning, walked none, struck out one, and allowed one run.
