Bishop leads the Roswell Invaders to 17-11 win over the Santa Fe Fuego

A superb effort by Cody Bishop hoisted the Roswell Invaders (11-7) to a 17-11 win over the Santa Fe Fuego (4-16) on Saturday at Fort Marcy Park.

Bishop hit three home runs for the Roswell Invaders. Bishop went 3-5 in the game with five RBIs and four runs scored. Bishop homered in the second, sixth, and ninth innings.

Steven Taft rocked the Roswell Invaders with two home runs. Taft went 3-5 in the game with three RBIs and two runs scored. Taft homered in the fourth and eighth innings.

The two teams combined for 28 runs and 31 hits, including zero extra base hits. Managers of the two teams seemingly emptied their bullpens in search of the win, as there were 10 pitchers used in the game.

The Roswell Invaders turned the win into a rout with eight runs in the second. The Roswell Invaders scored in the second on an RBI single by Lars Liguori, an RBI single by Christian Johnson, a home run by Rene Moreda, and a two-run home run by Bishop.

Even though Liguori allowed seven runs over five innings he still recorded the victory, his first of the season. Liguori struck out four, walked five and gave up nine hits.

Thomas Zarewicz couldn't get it done on the mound for the Santa Fe Fuego, taking a loss. He allowed nine runs in five innings, walked three and struck out four.

The Roswell Invaders hammered the Santa Fe Fuego pitching as six hitters had a field day, combining for 15 hits, 16 RBIs and 13 runs scored.
