The Evansville Otters drop the Gateway Grizzlies 6-4 behind Balog's early three-run home run

Three first-inning runs helped the Evansville Otters (28-21) to a 6-4 win over the Gateway Grizzlies (25-27) at Bosse Field on Saturday.

A three-run home run by Nik Balog delivered the runs in the first. The Evansville Otters had two hits in the inning.

Balog racked up three RBIs on one hit for the Evansville Otters.

Ben Waldrip had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He doubled in the fifth inning and homered in the sixth inning.

Tyler Vail recorded his third win of the year for the Evansville Otters. He allowed three runs over 5 2/3 innings. He struck out three, walked three and surrendered seven hits.

Vincent Molesky ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his fifth loss of the year. He allowed six runs in five innings, walked two and struck out two.
