Landon Briscoe collected three hits, sparking the Yorkton Cardinals (2-1) to a 6-2 victory over the Melville Millionaires (0-4) on Sunday at Jubilee Park.

He doubled in the sixth inning and singled in the fifth and eighth innings.

Codi Scanlon struck out nine, paving the way for a the Yorkton Cardinals win. Scanlon allowed no earned runs on four hits and three walks over six innings.

Austin Stewart (0-1) took the loss for the Melville Millionaires. He lasted just 5 2/3 innings, walked one, struck out five, and allowed five runs.
