Four first-inning runs helped the Las Cruces Vaqueros (3-12) to a 7-4 win over the Roswell Invaders (9-6) at Apodoca Park on Thursday.

John Hotta racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Las Cruces Vaqueros. He homered in the first inning and tripled in the third inning.

Zack Tingen improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Las Cruces Vaqueros. He allowed two runs over two innings. Tingen struck out none, walked none and gave up two hits.

Shane Simpkins couldn't get it done on the bump for the Roswell Invaders, taking a loss. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked two, struck out none, and allowed four runs.
