Tierney helps the Frontier Greys down the Florence Freedom 6-3

Brandon Tierney went 2-5 and hit a home run as the Frontier Greys (40-50) took home a 6-3 victory over the Florence Freedom (46-44) at UC Health Stadium on Saturday.

He singled in the first inning and homered in the seventh inning.

The Florence Freedom couldn't get anything going as long as Chris Rice was pitching. Rice held the Florence Freedom hitless over 2 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three.

Isaac Wenrich was solid at the plate for the Florence Freedom. Wenrich went 1-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the fourth inning.

Seth Harvey ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his fourth loss of the year. He lasted just one inning, walked two, struck out two, and allowed three runs.
