Max Casper went 1-3 and hit a home run as the Joliet Slammers (12-20) took home a 3-2 victory over the River City Rascals (18-13) in eight innings at Silver Cross Field on Saturday.

Hunter Ackerman got the win for the Joliet Slammers thanks to five strikeouts. Ackerman allowed one earned run, four hits and one walk over six innings.

The River City Rascals were led by Josh Ludy's hitting. Ludy went 2-3, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the first inning and homered in the fourth inning.

Joe Scanio ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just six innings, walked none, struck out two, and allowed three runs.
