The Alpine Cowboys jump on the Douglas Diablos early and coast to 18-3 win

The Alpine Cowboys (48-20) refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against the Douglas Diablos (27-36), recording an 18-3 victory on Wednesday at Copper King Park.

Ten runs in the first three innings allowed the Alpine Cowboys to put the game away early.

A two-run single by Corey Caswell in the second inning supplied the early offense for the Alpine Cowboys.

Tyler Heck went a perfect 5-5 at the plate for the Alpine Cowboys. He doubled in the second inning and singled in the third, fourth, and seventh innings.

Jasper Adams struck out six, paving the way for a the Alpine Cowboys win. Adams allowed no earned runs, six hits and one walk over five innings.

Jake Hovis ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his fifth loss of the year. He lasted just two innings, walked none, struck out two, and allowed two runs.
