The Evansville Otters (56-37) and the Washington Wild Things (57-38) both had scoring chances on Wednesday, but it was the Evansville Otters that were able to capitalize on them as they pulled out a 10-5 win at CONSOL Energy Park.
Chris Elder racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Evansville Otters. He singled in the first and fifth innings and homered in the seventh inning.
Daniel Poma reached base three times in the game for the Washington Wild Things. He scored one run and had one RBI. He singled in the third inning and tripled in the fifth inning.
Anthony Collazo improved to 5-2 on the year by picking up the win for the Evansville Otters. He allowed one run over 1 2/3 innings. Collazo struck out three, walked two and gave up one hit.
Matt Purnell was charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked one, struck out one, and allowed two runs.
