The bats were busy at Schaumburg Baseball Stadium on Friday, and when the dust cleared the Schaumburg Boomers (33-26) had a 14-11 win over the Traverse City Beach Bums (23-36).

The two teams combined for 28 hits in the game.

Jordan Dean racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Schaumburg Boomers. He doubled in the fourth inning and singled in the fifth inning.

Rob Benedict put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Traverse City Beach Bums. He doubled in the first and third innings and singled in the eighth inning.

Danny Jimenez got his fifth win for the Schaumburg Boomers despite allowing six runs over five innings. Jimenez struck out four, walked three and gave up 10 hits.

Rusty Shellhorn ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed 10 runs in 4 2/3 innings, walked five and struck out five.

The Schaumburg Boomers hammered the Traverse City Beach Bums pitching as six hitters had a field day, combining for 10 hits, 10 RBIs and 12 runs scored.
