Nick Schwaner went 1-3 and hit a home run, helping the Evansville Otters (8-4) to a 6-2 victory over the Normal CornBelters (4-8) on Thursday at The Corn Crib.

He homered in the ninth inning.

Despite the loss, the Normal CornBelters' Corey MacDonald dominated the Evansville Otters' batters, giving up two runs and striking out five.

Brandon Shimo got the win, running his season record to 1-0. He struck out none, walked none and surrendered no hits.

Chuck Ghysels (0-1) took the loss for the Normal CornBelters. He lasted just one inning, walked one, struck out none, and allowed three runs.
