The Gateway Grizzlies (24-11) and the Evansville Otters (21-14) both had scoring chances on Wednesday, but it was the Gateway Grizzlies that were able to capitalize on them as they pulled out a 9-5 win at GCS Ballpark.
Vladimir Frias racked up four RBIs on two hits for the Gateway Grizzlies. He doubled in the fifth and seventh innings.
J.R. Higley had two extra-base hits for the Evansville Otters. He singled in the second inning, homered in the third innings, and doubled in the sixth inning.
Even though Tim Brown allowed five runs over seven innings he still recorded the victory, his fifth of the season. He struck out three, walked one and surrendered 10 hits.
Ryan Zamorsky couldn't get it done on the rubber for the Evansville Otters, taking a loss. He allowed eight runs in 4 2/3 innings, walked four and struck out two.
