College Experience: Montalto comes to Traverse City following two seasons at Barry University. Last year for the Buccaneers he appeared in a team-leading 23 games with four saves and a 3.35 ERA. He struck out 45 batters in 37.2 innings, a rate of 10.75 per nine innings.  In 2014, he went 2-2 with a 6.19 ERA in 12 games, making five starts. 

Prior to coming to Barry, he posted a 5-4 record with a 3.11 ERA in 16 games (12 starts) for Lackawanna Community College, helping lead the Falcons to the NJCAA World Series. He struck out 83 batters in 75.1 innings. Montalto began his career at SUNY Cortland in 2012 and did not allow an earned run in five appearances for a Red Dragons team that advanced to the NCAA Division III World Series.
