Dan Child begins his fourth pro season and first as a ThunderBolt in 2016. Child joined the team as a free agent on January 26, 2016. Child's professional career began when he was drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 18th round of the 2013 MLB Amateur Draft. He spent 2 seasons with the Phillies organization, rising to high-A in 2013. Child spent last season in the American Association with the Lincoln Saltdogs, pitching in 13 games and striking out 16 batters. Child played college ball three years at Oregon State, earning an All-Pac 12 Honorable Mention his sophomore year when 6-4 with a 2.95 ERA in 17 games. He also became the first OSU pitcher to pitch 10 innings in 10 years, striking out 11 batters that game. Child attended Jesuit High School in Rocklin, California.
