Orlando “Tre” Gonzalez returns to Southeastern Connecticut after playing four years under current Schooners manager Phil Orbe at Montville High School, and a summer with the Schooners in 2013. After sitting out the 2014 season as a medical redshirt, Tre bounced back nicely in his first season at ECSU. The lefty led his team in strikeouts, and surrendered just one run in a complete game, 14 K performance in a conference semi-finals start against UMass-Boston. While at Montville, Gonzalez won back-to-back state championships in 2010 and 2011 and was named the Connecticut Pitcher of the Year as a senior in 2012.
