Ryan Frederick began his career at Georgia Southern in 2014 after one season of baseball at Savannah College of Art and Design. During his first season with the Eagles, Frederick appeared in a total of 24 games, recording and 4-1 record, starting in 10 games. He threw 53.1 innings tallying 39 strikeouts keeping his walks to 18. Frederick would be the Southern Conference Pitcher of the Week (3/24/14) as well as Southern Conference Academic All-Conference and was placed on the Sun Belt Honor Roll

In 2015, Frederick would throw in 32.0 innings, making 24 appearances for Georgia Southern. He kept opposing hitters to a .226 batting average and struck out 27 while reducing his number of walks from the year prior to 14. Frederick would finish the 2015 season with a record of 3-2.
