SPRING 2014: Tanner is redshirting at Dixie State this year due to an elbow injury. He has now completed rehab is looking forward to the summer season with the BlueJackets. Dixie State is currently atop the PacWest Conference with a 20-4 record and is 29-13 overall.
SUMMER 2013: He pitched and played infield for Southern Nevada, a summer league baseball team playing in California, Nevada and Utah. He threw a no hitter against a visiting team from Perth, Australia.
HIGH SCHOOL, SPRING 2013: In his senior year at Boulder City, he had a .491 batting average over 35 games and drove in 58 RBI and scored 47 runs. He pitched in 13 games (starting 8) and had a 5-1 record with 4 complete games, and a 2.43 ERA, striking out 84 while issuing only 33 walks. While at Boulder City HS, Tanner was named Div-1A Nevada State MVP, was selected as a 2 time First team All-State Pitcher, First team All-State Infielder, Conference MVP, and a 2 time first team all-conference pitcher, infielder.
PERSONAL: Tanner’s parents are Ken and Kim Howell. Tanner has an older brother and two older sisters. He enjoys hanging out a t the beach on Lake Mead, riding his long board and dirt bike, waterskiing, paddle boarding, and just relaxing in the sun.
