Dave Carrillo, a California native, returns to the Florence Freedom in 2014 as the team's bench coach. He served mostly as the team's bullpen catcher the past two years. After a standout career at Glendora High School, Carrillo chose to attend Cal State Northridge. Carrillo decided to transfer to Mt. San Antonio Junior College after the conclusion of his freshman year at Cal State Northridge. After a redshirt sophomore year, Carrillo batted .328 in his junior year at Mt. San Antonio while appearing in 39 games. Carrillo finished the year with eight doubles, a triple, two home runs, and 23 runs batted in. Carrillo was named to the All-South Coast Conference First Team and was a second-team CCCB Southern California All-American. Carrillo then transferred to Cal State Fullerton, where he was productive in limited opportunities before injuies prevented him from finishing the season.
