2013 was Galan’s best season yet as a Brown Bear, as he started all 10 games in which he appeared. The right-hander went 2-5 with a 4.77 ERA in 54.2 innings. He had a strong strikeout to walk ratio of 38 to 21 and opponents hit .280 against him.
Last summer, Galan played for the Wellsville Nitros of the New York Collegiate Baseball League going 3-5 with a 2.60 ERA in 9 starts.
As a sophomore, Galan struggled in his transition as a starter as he went 1-6 with a 7.02 ERA in 10 appearances and 9 starts. He struck out 42 batters while only walking 20. As a rookie in 2011, Galan was second on the team in appearances with 12 on the season. Despite a 7.94 ERA, Galan managed to go 1-2 with 21 strikeouts in 34 innings pitched.
At the Hun School, Galan earned Defensive Player of the Year and Pitcher of the Year honors as a junior, as well as earning all-county honors. The following season, he was named to the all-state prep-team.
