Upon the conclusion of his sophomore season at West Point in which the Army baseball team made the NCAA Tournament, Andrew Johnson will join the CrackerJacks as one of the most experienced players on the roster. This past season, Johnson batted .291 working as a designated hitter and catcher. While playing in 23 games, he also drove in five runs, scored 15 times, and did not commit a fielding error. Army went 41-13 during the regular season.
After redshirting in 2010, Johnson saw his first action in 2011. Appearing in five games, Johnson batted .200 and drove in two runs. He is a right-handed batter and thrower.
Johnson attended York Community High School in nearby Elmhurst, Ill. While there, he lettered twice and was an All-Area choice both years, All-Conference his senior season and was also awarded as the team MVP during his senior season. Johnson played wide receiver for the football team at York. He has clocked a 7.07 60-yard dash time as well.
Johnson is a Systems Management major at West Point. He is the son of Robert and Camille Johnson.
