ABOUT JAKE THOMAS: 

Bowling Green State University outfielder Jake Thomas signed with the CrackerJacks for the 2012 season on Oct. 13, 2011.  The scrappy Litchfield, Ohio, native recently completed a very successful sophomore season for the Falcons.  

Thomas hit 0.311 (55-for-127) in 2012 for Bowling Green and made 49 appearances (46 starts).  He finished the season with 19 RBIs, 28 runs scored, five doubles and four triples.  On March 14, Thomas tied the school record for hits in a game (six) in a 24-11 win over Malone.  In addition, he slugged 0.384, posted a 0.420 on-base percentage and put together a 10-game hit streak from March 13 to March 27.  The Medina Buckeye High School product had 13 multi-hit games and six multi-RBI games in 2012 as well.  He was named MAC Scholar Athlete of the Week on March 8.      

As a freshman in 2011, Thomas appeared in 17 games and made two starts.

At Medina Buckeye High School, Thomas earned four varsity letters and hit 0.575 with six home runs, five triples, 12 doubles and 19 walks as a senior in 2010.  Thomas garnered Patriot Athletic Conference Player of the Year honors, was a first team All-Medina County and Offensive Player of the Year selection and was named team captain as a senior.  

In addition, Thomas was a four-year member and team captain of the Medina Buckeye wrestling team.  The Applied Health Science major is the son of Jerry and Mary Thomas.
