ABOUT JAKE O’BRIEN:

Jake O’Brien joins the CrackerJacks for the 2012 season after recently completing his rookie season at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Okla.  The six-foot O’Brien, a left-handed first baseman and outfielder, brings versatility to the Will County lineup.

A native of Tulsa, Okla., O’Brien signed with the CrackerJacks on Sept. 23, 2011, the same day that college teammate Hayden Martin signed with the Will County club.  In 2012, O’Brien appeared in 18 games and made nine starts for Oral Roberts.  He finished the year with four RBIs and belted a home run.  In addition, O’Brien slugged 0.342 and collected eight hits, including two doubles, in 38 at bats.

O’Brien graduated from Bishop Kelley High School in Tulsa, Okla., in 2011.  At Bishop Kelley, he helped lead his team to a 2011 Oklahoma State Championship and regional championships in 2008, 2009 and 2010.  During his senior season, O’Brien garnered All-Metro Conference accolades and hit 0.383 with 17 home runs.

O’Brien is an Engineering major at Oral Roberts University.  He is the son of Carl and Michele O’Brien and has three siblings: Luke, Molly and Taylor.  He is a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and Oklahoma City Thunder.
