ABOUT DALTON POTTS:  


Dalton Potts joins the CrackerJacks for the summer after his freshman season at the University of Tennessee-Martin. During the 2012 season with the Skyhawks, the left-handed Potts finished 0-1 with a 9.16 ERA in 14 appearances. He also struck out 13 in 18.2 innings and started one game on the season against the 14th-ranked Ole Miss Rebels. 


Potts is from Greenfield, Tenn., and attended Greenfield High School. The Yellowjackets went 20-8 during his senior season. Potts went 10-1 and held a 1.33 ERA. He struck out 101 batters while only allowing 10 walks in 54 innings. Potts also limited opposing batters to a 0.170 batting average. He picked up double digits in strikeouts in six of his 10 starts as a senior.   

 

When Potts was a junior, Greenfield won the District 14A and regional championship. He was also an excellent hitter, posting a .463 batting average as a senior and clubbing five home runs. As a fielder, Potts didn’t record a single error. After finishing his career with a 27-5 record, his number 11 jersey was retired at Greenfield High. He was selected to play for the Kansas City Royals scout team.  

 

While at Greenfield, Potts also played for the football team as a quarterback and basketball team as a forward. He is the son of Randy and Cheryl Potts and has two older sisters, Denise Douglas and Kelsey Potts. Potts is a Sports Management major at UT-Martin.
