The Beetles bring in two right-handers from Michigan knowing the Wolverines have been kind to Alexandria in the past.  Matt Miller joins the club after a successful sophomore season in Ann Arbor.  The 6’6”, 215 pound Zionsville native spent much of the season as a reliable arm out of the Michigan bullpen, but also saw time in the starting role and as a closer.  Playing in the cozy confines of Knute Nelson Park, Miller does show great poise on the mound.  He went the entire ’08 campaign without allowing a homerun, and near the end of April, Miller had given up just one long ball.  Miller could use that experience to make a case for a starting position this summer, but the right-hander is expected to join the team in mid-June, depending on Michigan’s postseason chances.  Look for Miller to get into the rotation when he arrives if the Beetles are struggling; otherwise, he will bolster the bullpen.
