Kelley Gulledge is an Arlington, Texas, native who begins his first season with Diablos.  The 6-2, 230 lbs veteran catcher was drafted by the Texas Rangers in the 35th round of the 1997 draft and the Minnesota Twins in the 10th round of the 2000 draft after playing for the University of Alabama.  Gulledge spent 2000-2003 playing in the Twins organization with Quad Cities River Bandits of the Midwest League, the Fort Myers Miracle of the Florida State League, and reaching as high as the Class-AA New Britain Rock Cats of the Eastern League. After being released by the Twins, he finished the season with the Stockton Ports, the High-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers in the California League. In 2004-2005, Gulledge moved to independent baseball, competing for the Fargo-Moorhead Redhawks where he was named the Northern League’s All-Star Catcher and the Independent Leagues First-Team All-Star Catcher both years. Gulledge signed with the Fort Worth Cats in 2007 and was a member of their championship team after which he was named to the American Association South All-Star Team and earned All-Independent Second Team Honors from Baseball America.  Gulledge was signed by the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2008 and spent the season with the Class-AA Jacksonville Suns of the Southern League and going as high as the Triple-A with the Las Vegas 51s of the Pacific Coast League.  From 2009-2011, Gulledge returned to Fort Worth and the American Association and was selected to Baseball American’s 2011 Independent League All-Star Team and the American Association’s postseason all-star team.   This season will mark Gulledge’s 12th season of professional where he has amassed career statistics of .289/.371/.459 in 816 games with 432 runs, 823 hits, including 211 doubles, 88 home runs, and 463 RBIs with a career fielding percentage of .986 and 19% of runners caught stealing.
