Dan gained valuable experience in his sophomore campaign at Wisconsin-Stout before heading south to pitch in the Arizona Collegiate League finishing the 2011 season with a 2.98 ERA in 7 appearances. He struck out 50 while only walking 21 in 45.2 innings pitched earning him an opportunity to play in the Northwoods League and the Duluth Huskies.
