Ryan Williams pitched primarily in relief for West Valley College. He appeared in 22 games and started two. Williams served as the team's primary closer, saving six games. He posted a 2.41 ERA and a 3-1 record. Williams finished the year starting for the Vikings. He emerged victorious in each of his starts in 2011. The San Jose native batted .220 in 59 at-bats. He started at both of the corner infield positions for the Vikings. Ryan k'ed 29 hitters in 41 innings and issued just three walks. These stats earned him 2nd team All-Reliever honors. Ryan excelled at Sobrato High School. There he garnered a spot on the First Team All-Mount Hamilton League. In his senior year, Williams won five games and lost three on the strength of a 1.50 ERA. He finished seven of his ten starts in his final season at Sobrato. Ryan walked five hitters in70 innings in the 2010 season. The year before he took home Co-Junior of the Year Award. He delivered a 9-2 record and allowed just 2.64 runs per nine innings to earn this prestigious honor.
