In his second season in cranberry country, Muncy is a hitter that returning Cape League pitchers are weary of. For the Gatemen last summer, he appeared in 40 games and hit a team-best nine doubles and team second-best 25 RBI. Muncy also totaled two triples and three homers to help create a .244 batting average and .344 on-base percentage.

            One of the most-feared hitters in the Big 12, Muncy was a 41st round selection by the Cleveland Indians out of Keller High School in Texas, and most collegiate pitchers wished he had gone pro right away.

            This past spring as a sophomore, Muncy began the season hitting a team-best .321 for Baylor through 41 games, totaling six doubles, three triples, five homers, and 31 RBI in the process.

            This came on the heels of a record-breaking freshman campaign for the Bears, where he set school marks for home runs by a freshman (11), RBI by a freshman (53), and multi-RBI game by a freshman (17), as well as total fielding chances by a freshman (582) and putouts by a freshman (541).

            Named a Freshman All-American by Collegiate Baseball, he started 59 games at first base for Baylor and hit .300 for the season.
