Strassman joins the Honkers following a solid freshman year at Rochecter Community & Technical College. He pitched 36.2 innings in nine appearances (seven starts). He recorded a 2-3 record with a 5.65 earned run average. Strassman's highlights include pitching two complete games and allowing only one extr-base hit (a double). Opposing batters hit a .275 batting average against him. He attended and played baseball at Robbinsdale Armstrong High School in Plymouth, Minnesota, where he was a two-time letter winner.
