Acquired from the Texas AirHogs on August 25, Morris has experience as both a pitcher and a position player in the professional ranks. The 26-year old was originally drafted straight out of Coppell High School (TX) in the 35th round by the Washington Nationals, but elected not to sign and instead spent three years at the University of Arkansas. Exclusively an outfielder with the Razorbacks, Morris was drafted for a second time after his sophomore season in Fayetteville, this time by the Cleveland Indians in the 37th round, and again chose not to sign.  After the Chicago White Sox selected Morris in the 24th round following his junior season, the Dallas, Texas, native agreed to terms and reported to Rookie Level Great Falls. Morris hit .246 with the Voyagers, including 12 home runs, earning a promotion to Class A Kannapolis the following season. Following the 2014 campaign, the right-hander was converted to a pitcher, going 7-7 with a 4.31 ERA across two levels of the White Sox system. He was released in March of 2017, and promptly signed with the AirHogs, where he posted a 4.28 ERA in 32 relief appearances.
