The San Angelo Colts cruise past the McAllen Thunder, 8-2

The McAllen Thunder (1-5) had a tough outing on Saturday, as the San Angelo Colts (6-1) dominated in an 8-2 win at Foster Field.

The San Angelo Colts scored three runs in the sixth on a two-run double by Ronnie Gaines and an RBI single by Landon Camp.

Gaines racked up two RBIs on three hits for the San Angelo Colts.

The San Angelo Colts got the win thanks in large part to Ryan Riddle's dominant, five-strikeout performance. Riddle allowed no earned runs, four hits and one walk over six innings.

Brian Nichols racked up two RBIs on one hit for the McAllen Thunder. He homered in the first inning.

Quinn Bright couldn't get it done on the mound for the McAllen Thunder, taking a loss. He lasted just five innings, walked three, struck out four, and allowed five runs.

The McAllen Thunder jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first. A two-run blast by Nichols, scoring Antoin Gray started the inning off.

The lead stayed with the San Angelo Colts after the third, when they scored three runs on a two-run double by Daryl Jones and an RBI single by Camp.
