The San Angelo Colts (44-41) refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against the McAllen Thunder (30-55), recording a 16-6 victory on Wednesday at Foster Field.

Seven runs in the first three innings allowed the San Angelo Colts to put the game away early.

An RBI double by Daryl Jones in the first inning and a two-run double by J.J. Sherrill, an RBI double by Jones, and a two-run home run by Landon Camp during the second inning helped the San Angelo Colts put some runs on the board early.

Jones went a perfect 3-3 at the dish for the San Angelo Colts.

Antoin Gray racked up three RBIs on three hits for the McAllen Thunder. He doubled in the third inning, singled in the fifth inning, and homered in the seventh inning.

Brian Henschel improved to 5-8 on the year by picking up the win for the San Angelo Colts. He allowed three runs over five innings. He struck out three, walked none and surrendered eight hits.

The San Angelo Colts pounded the McAllen Thunder pitching, as six hitters combined for 13 hits, 11 RBIs and 14 runs scored.

Sean Keeler was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed six runs in two innings, walked four and struck out two.
