The Wichita Wingnuts (45-32) beat the Lincoln Saltdogs (31-46) 9-1 on Wednesday at Haymarket Park after a seven-run explosion in the eighth inning.

Jared McDonald racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Wichita Wingnuts. He singled in the fifth inning and homered in the eighth inning.

The Wichita Wingnuts got the win thanks in large part to Derek Blacksher's dominant, eight-strikeout performance. Blacksher allowed one earned run on two hits and two walks over 6 2/3 innings.

Justin R. Edwards (4-6) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just seven innings, walked one, struck out four, and allowed four runs.
