Sixth-inning rally sparks blowout win for the Grand Prairie, 7-1

The Grand Prairie (20-10) beat the Laredo 7-1 in seven innings on Monday at QuikTrip Park after a four-run explosion in the sixth inning.

Yasutsugu Nishimoto went a perfect 3-3 at the dish for the Grand Prairie. He singled in the third, fourth, and sixth innings.

Teddy Nowell looked sharp on the mound. Nowell gave up just three hits, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out five during his four innings of work.

Javier Brito had two extra-base hits for the Laredo (13-17). He doubled in the first inning and tripled in the sixth inning.

Derrick Miramontes recorded his second win of the year for the Grand Prairie. He struck out none, walked one and surrendered no hits.

Leonard Giammanco ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just four innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed three runs.
