The Wichita defeat the Fargo-Moorhead after late game single, 7-5

The Wichita (8-3) took the last of four lead changes in a back-and-forth affair against the Fargo-Moorhead (5-6), securing a 7-5 victory on Monday at Newman Outdoor Field.

The Wichita were led by a flawless day at the dish by David Peralta, who went 2-2 against the Fargo-Moorhead 's pitching. He doubled in the second and ninth innings.

The Fargo-Moorhead 's lineup had no answer for Jared Simon. Simon held the Fargo-Moorhead hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out none.

Ryan Delgado racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Fargo-Moorhead . He singled in the second inning and doubled in the fourth inning.

Matt Nevarez recorded his first win of the year for the Wichita . Nevarez struck out two, walked none and gave up no hits.

Dan Morari ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just 2 2/3 innings, walked one, struck out none, and allowed one run.

The Wichita jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the top of the second. Jared McDonald singled to ignite the Wichita 's offense. Peralta doubled, bringing home CJ Ziegler and McDonald. The Wichita then tacked on more runs when Peralta scored on an RBI single by Salomon Manriquez.

The Wichita brought home one run in the fourth inning, and matched that run total in the sixth. In the fourth, the Wichita scored on a sacrifice fly by Ryan Khoury, bringing home Peralta.

The Fargo-Moorhead scored two runs of their own in the fourth. The Fargo-Moorhead scored on a two-run double by Delgado.

The Wichita went up for good in the ninth, scoring two runs on an RBI double by Peralta and an RBI single by Ziegler.
