It took 12 innings, but the Schaumburg Boomers (46-35) managed to put away the Windy City ThunderBolts (47-33) 8-6 on Tuesday at Standard Bank Stadium.

With the Windy City ThunderBolts trailing by one, was hit by a pitch, scoring Mike Torres.

The teams traded runs for most of the contest, leading to seven lead changes in the game.

Karexon Sanchez was solid at the plate for the Schaumburg Boomers. Sanchez went 3-7, drove in one and scored two runs. He homered in the first inning and singled in the sixth and tenth innings.

Sam Robinson improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Schaumburg Boomers. He allowed one run over one inning. He struck out none, walked none and surrendered one hit.

Andy Mee couldn't get it done on the bump for the Windy City ThunderBolts, taking a loss. He lasted just one inning, walked none, struck out two, and allowed two runs.
