The Joliet Slammers (10-8) were unable to fight back from the big hole they dug themselves into against the Windy City ThunderBolts (11-5), and the Joliet Slammers lost 5-3 to the Windy City ThunderBolts after falling behind by three runs in the second inning.

The Joliet Slammers scored on a two-run home run by Zach Mandelblatt in the fourth inning and an RBI single by Erik Lis in the eighth inning. Still, the Joliet Slammers couldn't draw even.

Brandon Decker paced the Windy City ThunderBolts at the plate. Decker went 1-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the seventh inning.

Stephen Sauer's 10 strikeouts were enough to push the Windy City ThunderBolts past the Joliet Slammers. Sauer allowed three earned runs, six hits and two walks over eight innings.

Mandelblatt racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Joliet Slammers.

Jeremy Tietze (0-2) took the loss for the Joliet Slammers. He lasted just five innings, walked two, struck out two, and allowed four runs.
