The Southern Illinois Miners (12-5) took the last of five lead changes in a back-and-forth affair against the Washington Wild Things (6-10), securing a 7-4 victory on Wednesday at CONSOL Energy Park.
Jason Ganek was hot from the plate for the Southern Illinois Miners. Ganek went 3-4, drove in one and scored two runs. He homered in the third inning and singled in the fifth and eighth innings.
Ian Campbell put together a nice outing. Campbell gave up just two hits, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his three innings of work.
Robbie Garvey got a hit in each of his three at bats. He singled in the third, fourth, and seventh innings.
Justin Hall (1-2) took the loss for the Washington Wild Things. He allowed seven runs in five innings, walked none and struck out three.
