Down five runs in the fourth, the Florence Freedom (31-28) recovered thanks to Drew Rundle's three-run home run in the seventh, and pulled out a 10-9 win over the Lake Erie Crushers (32-27) on Monday at Home of the Florence Freedom.
With the Florence Freedom trailing by two, Rundle came to the plate and homered, bringing home Peter Fatse and Jim Jacquot.
Rundle racked up four RBIs on one hit for the Florence Freedom. He homered in the seventh inning.
Both squads had things going at the plate, tallying 19 runs and 22 hits, including zero extra base hits. There were nine pitchers used in the game as the two managers searched for any way to finish it off.
The Florence Freedom staved off the Lake Erie Crushers as the Lake Erie Crushers were unable to match the Florence Freedom down the stretch.
The Lake Erie Crushers scored one run in the ninth on a solo home run by Andrew Davis. Unfortunately, the Lake Erie Crushers weren't able to take the lead back.
Sean Gregory improved to 5-5 on the year by picking up the win for the Florence Freedom. He struck out none, walked none and surrendered no hits.
Travis Risser (2-3) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 2 1/3 innings, walked none, struck out three, and allowed three runs.
