The Lake Erie Crushers make the most of 8 hits in 8-3 victory over the Florence Freedom

Both the Lake Erie Crushers (20-20) and the Florence Freedom (22-18) put runners aboard on Saturday, but it was the Lake Erie Crushers that were able to take advantage, pulling out an 8-3 win at Home of the Florence Freedom.

Russell Moldenhauer had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He doubled in the first and fifth innings.

Eric Gonzalez-Diaz picked up the win for the Lake Erie Crushers. Gonzalez-Diaz allowed three earned runs, 10 hits and one walk while striking out six over nine innings of work.

Drew Rundle racked up three RBIs on one hit for the Florence Freedom. He homered in the sixth inning.

Alec Lewis couldn't get it done on the rubber for the Florence Freedom, taking a loss. He allowed eight runs in five innings, walked two and struck out two.

Andrew Davis, Moldenhauer and Brian Erie helped lead the Lake Erie Crushers. They combined for six hits and six RBIs.
