Adam Champion kept the Normal CornBelters (23-48) off the board during his eight innings of work and the Evansville Otters (34-37) beat the Normal CornBelters, 17-0.

Champion struck out seven and allowed three walks and six hits.

The Evansville Otters didn't let up, as they kept racking up runs until the end. The Evansville Otters scored seven runs in the final three innings to cap the blowout win. The Evansville Otters scored seven runs in the seventh on a two-run triple by Runey Davis, an RBI single by Taylor Black, an RBI double by Nick Schwaner, , and a two-run double by Stephen Marino.

Davis racked up four RBIs on three hits for the Evansville Otters.

Brendon Smith ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his fourth loss of the year. He allowed eight runs in four innings, walked two and struck out three.

The Evansville Otters hammered the Normal CornBelters pitching as six hitters had a field day, combining for 13 hits, 14 RBIs and 14 runs scored.
