The Evansville Otters (19-26) beat the Schaumburg Boomers (28-17) 6-3 in seven innings on Thursday at Bosse Field behind Runey Davis, who went 2-3.
He singled in the fourth inning and tripled in the sixth inning.It was a good day at the plate for the Schaumburg Boomers' Nate Baumann. Baumann went 2-3, drove in one and scored two runs. He singled in the second innings and homered in the fourth inning.
Adam Champion got the win, running his season record to 3-2. He allowed three runs over six innings. Champion struck out two, walked two and gave up seven hits.
Alex Rivers was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just 3 1/3 innings, walked none, struck out three, and allowed four runs.
