The Florence Freedom outdone by Parache and the Evansville Otters, 3-2

Luis Parache went 3-3 at the plate as the Evansville Otters (15-21) took home a 3-2 victory over the Florence Freedom (21-15) in seven innings at Bosse Field on Sunday.

He singled in the first and third innings and homered in the sixth inning.

Alec Lewis was effective even in defeat, mowing down five the Evansville Otters batters and allowing three runs.

DJ Ponder improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Evansville Otters. Ponder struck out one, walked none and gave up no hits.

Lewis ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his fourth loss of the year.
