Offenses dominate as the Lake Erie Crushers outscore the Rockford RiverHawks 12-10

Pitchers had a tough day during the game between the Lake Erie Crushers (4-6) and the Rockford RiverHawks (3-7), as the two teams put up 22 runs combined in a 12-10 the Lake Erie Crushers win.

The teams totaled 33 hits in the game.

The teams traded runs for most of the contest, leading to nine lead changes in the game.

Andrew Davis racked up five RBIs on three hits for the Lake Erie Crushers. He doubled in the first inning, homered in the fifth inning, and singled in the sixth inning.

The Rockford RiverHawks couldn't get anything going as long as Jonathan Kountis was on the mound. Kountis held the Rockford RiverHawks hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out two.

Ben Klafczynski got the win, running his season record to 1-0. He allowed one run over 2 1/3 innings. He struck out two, walked three and surrendered one hit.

Drew Rucinski ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked one, struck out none, and allowed four runs.

Thanks to two runs on three hits in the bottom half of the second, the Rockford RiverHawks had the early lead. The Rockford RiverHawks' rally started when Devin Shepherd singled. More runs came home for the Rockford RiverHawks when Herrera scored on an RBI single by Elvin Millan Jr.

The Rockford RiverHawks quickly matched the Lake Erie Crushers' strong inning with a three-run inning of their own in the fourth. The Rockford RiverHawks scored on an RBI double by Javier Herrera and a two-run home run by Michael Hur.

It didn't take long for the Rockford RiverHawks to answer as they scored four runs of their own in the fifth. The Rockford RiverHawks scored on a solo home run by Jet Butler, a wild pitch, an RBI double by Herrera, and an RBI single by Millan Jr.

The lead stayed with the Lake Erie Crushers after the sixth, when they scored five runs on a two-run double by Rogelio Noris and two singles.
