The Windy City ThunderBolts need extra frames to finish the Schaumburg Boomers, win 2-1

It took 15 innings, but the Windy City ThunderBolts (5-1) managed to put away the Schaumburg Boomers (3-3) 2-1 on Tuesday at Standard Bank Stadium.

With the score tied at one in the fifteenth inning, Bryan Burke came to the plate and singled, scoring Bruce Alter.

Burke pushed the Windy City ThunderBolts ahead, in the fifteenth inning, and the lead lasted until the final out.

Chad Cregar had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He homered in the second inning and doubled in the fourteenth inning.

The Schaumburg Boomers couldn't get anything going so long as Andy Mee was on the hill. The Schaumburg Boomers managed just one hit off of Mee, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three during his two innings of work.

Shane Zegarac recorded his first win of the year for the Windy City ThunderBolts. Zegarac struck out none, walked none and gave up one hit.

Joe Parsons (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 3 1/3 innings, walked three, struck out three, and allowed one run.

In the first inning, the Schaumburg Boomers pushed across their only run of the day on a groundout by Gerard Hall.

The Windy City ThunderBolts went up for good in the fifteenth, scoring one run on an RBI single by Burke.
