The Great Bend Boom (5-2) and the Topeka Train Robbers (1-5) both had scoring chances on Monday, but it was the Great Bend Boom that were able to capitalize on them as they pulled out an 8-3 win at Al Baird Field.

Joe Quinones did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Great Bend Boom, reaching base four times. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He singled in the first inning and doubled in the fourth inning.

Ian Miller brought the heat against the Topeka Train Robbers during his outing. The Topeka Train Robbers managed just two hits off of Miller, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out five during his 3 1/3 innings of work.

Corey Willig had two extra-base hits for the Topeka Train Robbers. He doubled in the fourth and sixth innings.

Ty Geary was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked four, struck out one, and allowed three runs.
